Club Activity 2018

Match Play

We have adopted the name Bretton Beagles, and in 2019 we will again field teams in three of the local leagues: the Club 60, with matches on Tuesdays, the Midweek, with matches on Thursdays, and the Weekend, with matches on Saturdays. This gives us the opportunity to test our skills agains local teams with players of a generally similar standard. We also regularly enter teams in tournaments around the borough and beyond, where we have the pleasure of playing against random opposition – a real chance to test our mettle. Whatever the outcome of these matches, we all derive enjoyment from the encounters and show the determination to do our best. Friendly matches give us team play without so much pressure to gain points, but are approached with no less enthusiasm to show our prowess.  

Social Play

Community involvement is an important factor for our members. We offer social bowling to anyone who turns up on a Monday or Friday afternoon at 2pm. The only requirement is that players wear flat shoes. Equipment is available for loan and someone will always be on hand to give a helping hand. We try to foster interest at these sessions which may lead to players wanting to join the club, but are happy to support those who just want a bit of activity in a friendly environment of a weekday afternoon. 2019 season starts 29th April.
